The Safe Ride Foundation Internship Program provides a short-term paid internship to one local college student each Summer.

We believe in giving back, and one way we do that is by teaching our youth to do so as well. The Safe Ride Foundation is organized by young adults, making the work environment very easy to mesh into. Finally, the selected intern not only gets a valuable glimpse into the world of social entrepreneurship and the nonprofit sector, but also the opportunity to do very important work for a great local charity in their own community.

This Summer our selected intern is Meriam Helal, a Government Politics major attending The University of Maryland, moving into her third year of study. Meriam is an Egyptian-Amerucan young woman, hailing all the way from Cairo ????????!
She recently received her American citizenship, and is looking to enter into the political field after college. She is a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and an avid sprinter.

Meriam has been helping us with several projects over the last few weeks and we’re very excited to have her aboard!

Stay tuned next spring to find out about application information, and to see who our newest intern will be. The Safe Ride Foundation is very keen on supporting our local youth in their present and future endeavors, and we’re thrilled have the opportunity to do so!
