The Safe Ride Foundation Internship Program provides a short-term paid internship to one local college student each year.
We believe in giving back, and one way we do that is by teaching our youth to do so as well.  The internship opportunity below goes over all of the details of the position, what is expected of the lucky candidate, and also the proper method of applying for it.  The Safe Ride Foundation is run by young adults, making the work environment very easy to mesh into.  The workload is light, and also compensated.  Finally, the selected intern will not only get a valuable glimpse into the world of social entrepreneurship and the nonprofit sector, but also the opportunity to do very important work for a great local charity in their own community.

Grant Research and Writing Intern / Assistant

Job TitleCommunity Impact Grant Research and Writing Internship/Volunteer Position
Job DescriptionThe Safe Ride Foundation is seeking individuals to fulfill an important and meaningful role as we pursue grant funding for our projects and administration. In this position the individual will be immersed in our grant research and grant writing work. The individual will provide essential research for the development of our grant application strategy, and will draft and produce grant proposals.

Responsibilities could include, but not be limited to:
• Researching available and applicable grants
• Data entry and time-lining for grant proposals
• Research, retrieval and assembly of background material for grant proposals
• Drafting of letters of inquiry and full grant proposals for submission

The primary responsibility will be for the research of applicable potential grant opportunities, drafting of Letters of Inquiry and Grant Proposals and updating our online grant application collaboration system for the organization.

Requirements:
• A two-month commitment, at least 2 hours per week (maximum of 4)
• Goal driven Undergraduate or Graduate students preferably with non-profit or other volunteer experience (or a desire to gain such experience).
• Strong time-management, organizational, and internet research skills definitely a must.
• Ability to self-motivate, stay on task and work independently.

Salary
  • Internship will not be monetarily compensated as per the bylaws of the Safe Ride Foundation.
